Jack scowled as he threw open the door.

'Hello, Jack,' Maybourne said, smiling.

'You're stalking me now? My first day off in weeks and you just happen to show up?'

Maybourne gave him another sly smile. 'Coincidence. That's all.'

'Funny, 'cause I don't believe in coincidences,' adding quote marks with his fingers.

Maybourne shrugged. 'You've been on my mind, lately. Thought I'd pay you a visit.'

'The only thing you've got in mind is trouble,' Jack retorted. 'So, don't come ruin my barbecue.'

'Not even if I told you I've got a lead on the NID?'

'One beer,' Jack warned.
