Jack frowned as he stepped into Ianto's office in the archives. It was six, their agreed rendezvous time for dinner. 'Ianto?' he called out. There was no response.
Jack shook his head. Any money he'd gotten distracted somewhere deep in the archives.
'Ianto?' Jack looked up and down the long aisles of artifacts. Where the hell was he? Jack began to worry as he moved deeper into the archives. There was always a chance that something down here had been misclassified. The archives weren't nearly as safe as Jack would like, but he also knew Ianto would be careful.
Jack paused as the sound of voices finally met his ears, too far away to make out the words. He stepped quietly in case they were hostile. When he peeked around the corner he found his lover alone. 'Ianto?'
'Jack. Hi,' he said, giving a little wave.
'Was someone else down here? I swear I heard voices.'
'Just me talking to my imaginary friend.'
Jack folded his arms. 'Imaginary friend?'
Ianto smiled. 'Kidding! I talk to myself all the time.'
'If you say so.'
Ianto smiled again. It was easier than explaining afternoon tea with an archive master from another dimension.
