Gwen watched Owen work on the alien corpse with wide-eyed fascination. 'How do you know if they're boy aliens or girl aliens?'

Owen sighed. 'I'm a doctor. That's how.'

'Yeah, but, I mean, they can't all have, you know... obvious bits.'

'Then I look for the not obvious bits. Pouches, egg sacks, glands...'

'Male seahorses carry their eggs,' Ianto added, giving a smug little grin.

'I just know, alright!' Owen retorted, slamming down his scalpel.

'Jack!' Gwen called out. 'How do you tell male aliens from female aliens?'

He shrugged. 'I buy them a drink and worry about it later.'

I had all good intentions of doing some short fics for tw-fest ... but got distracted by other shiny things ... and laziness.

I do want to start doing some fics other than the drabbles - and more drabbles as well, so keep your fingers crossed :)

Yay! I'll hold you to that! Maybe we'll get you over at fic_promptly to try your hand. :)

I'm still trying to finish my last tw_fest submission (a.k.a. the notorious tw_fest "long fic"). I frittered away two months unable to work through the detail and now I'm in the final three days trying madly to pull it together.
I've no idea why I always do this to myself, but then again, without a deadline, fics have a tendency to not get done (like my GenPrompt Bingo fic at almost 100k - stupid ending to tie up all the plot points just isn't working for me, so that's two years now it's been sitting there unfinished), and another one that's now five years unfinished (in fact my very first fic that started me writing).
