Jack was out of the SUV before any of the others had even unclipped their seat belts.

'Don't mind us,' Owen grumbled, knowing he'd be left to help lug all of their equipment to the scene, including Jack's. 'Where's the fire, anyway?' he asked.

Suzie rolled her eyes, watching the great coat streak away into the middle distance. 'That's just Jack. He can't help but be the first one there and make a grand entrance.'

'But there's no one there. It's just space junk that's been dumped in the middle of a disused warehouse.'

'Some habits are hard to break.'
