Summary: Tosh's dinner plans keep changing.
'I tell you what,' Gwen began, turning to face Tosh in the driver's seat, 'I'll be glad to be clocking off at a normal time tonight. I can't remember the last time I was home in time for a proper meal with Rhys.'
Tosh smiled at that. 'I bet he'll be happy to have you home as well. A break from pizza and burgers sounds lovely.'
Gwen grinned. 'I'd just be happy with the glass of plonk if I'm honest. Or two.'
'That too.' She checked the traffic in her side mirror before changing lanes. 'Shouldn't be too much longer a wait,' she replied, Gwen's apartment only a few minutes away now.
In no time at all she was pulled up out the front.
'Thanks for the lift, Tosh.'
'No problem. Actually, while I think of it, do you still have that PDA that's playing up?'
Gwen brushed her hair back from her face. 'Oh, gosh, I'd totally forgotten about that. Why don't you come up with me and grab it? I'm like as to forget again by tomorrow morning.'
Gwen slipped the key into the lock, pushing open the door. 'Rhys? I'm home, sweetheart. Make yourself at home,' she added to Tosh. 'I'll just go get it.'
Rhys came out of the hallway and was intercepted by Gwen who pecked him lovingly on the cheek. It wasn't until she was past him that he caught sight of Tosh standing in their living room. 'Oh, hello,' he said, looking surprised.
'Hi, Rhys,' Tosh said, giving a little wave. 'Don't mind me. I'm just here to pick up a PDA. Won't be long and then I'll be out of your hair.'
'Well, that's a relief,' Rhys replied. 'I thought you were going to tell me you two were off again. Another dinner wasted. And me having spent all afternoon cooking it.'
Tosh inhaled deeply. 'It smells absolutely heavenly.'
Rhys blushed and shrugged. 'Just lasagne and garlic bread.'
'Don't downplay it. I'll be lucky if there's a can of condensed soup in the cupboard when I get home.'
'Well, in that case you ought to stay and have dinner with us. I've got enough here to feed an army. And Jack.'
She chuckled at the comment, knowing Jack's propensity to eat everything in sight. 'It's fine, really. You two have earned a night to yourselves.'
'Oh, sorry,' Gwen puffed, coming back out. 'Took a bit to find it, buried under a week's worth of dirty laundry,' she apologised, holding out the PDA.
'Thanks, Gwen.'
'Eh, Gwennie, why didn't you invite Tosh round for tea?'
Gwen frowned. 'Sorry?'
'Can't have Tosh going home to an empty kitchen.'
Tosh's phone began to trill before she could argue. Then Gwen's started up.
'Oh boy,' Gwen sighed. 'Guess that's us done for tonight, after all,' she said, as Jack's name came up on her phone, and Tosh already answering the call from Ianto. 'Don't suppose we could get that lasagne to take away, could we Rhys?'
