Summary: Owen's current status is causing friction around the hub. A double drabble.

Jack watched in silence as Owen stormed out of his office, indignant at the defrocking he'd received. Whether taking away his gun or his security pass hurt more, Jack couldn't say for sure.

'That is one unhappy camper,' he remarked, shifting his gaze to Ianto who was sliding shut the seal on the zip lock bag containing the small plastic card.

'And you're surprised?' he replied.

'Deep down he knows just as much as we do that he's been compromised. Who the hell knows what he is now.'

'Apart from being the living dead,' Ianto quipped.

Jack scrubbed a hand over his face. 'He'd have done the same if it was one of us. I can't just let him wander around Torchwood, and I don't want to have to lock him up. We owe him  more than that.'

'But he's okay to wander the streets?'

Jack was growing frustrated at the exchange. Owen was undead. What was he supposed to do? He couldn't change what had happened. Everyone needed to accept it. 'So tell me, what would you have done differently?'

Ianto gave him a direct stare. 'We both know I had the codes for the morgue,' came the answer.

Yeah, if Jack had used his head instead of his heart he would never have brought Owen back, but would that have made things better or worse?

It's a tough call with probably no right answer.
