Jack scrubs a hand across his face and stares dejectedly out through the glass wall of his office. There's Owen with a tray of mugs that looks wrong in the arms of anyone except Ianto. He looks miserable, like a man condemned, and Jack knows it's his stupid mistake that's responsible for condemning Owen.

You just couldn't let him go, could you?

He'd hoped it would be different this time. Not like Suzie. This had to be a permanent fix, and if it took his life to do it, that was okay. He had more than enough life to give.
