Jack sidled up to Gwen's desk and leant against it, smiling at her. 'Having a good day, Gwen?'

Gwen narrowed her eyes at him. He was being overly friendly and she suspected that meant he was up to no good. 'What are you up to, Jack?'

'Nothing. Well, actually, you see there's this thing at the mayor's office. Fancy ribbon cutting event of some kind, three course dinner, yadda yadda...'

'Oh, no,' Gwen said. 'You're barking up the wrong tree if you think you can con me into going.'

'But,'

'If Ianto said no, it must be bad. No chance.'
