Summary: Ser Alliser doesn't enjoy taking orders from his new Lord Commander. A double drabble.

Jon watched as the men filtered from his office, First Builder Yarwick, Sam, Bowen Marsh and several others. Their meeting was over but he still had one more item of business. Only Edd remained behind to take final instructions.

'Ser Alliser,' Jon called out to the man trailing at the back of the pack. 'A final request.' Thorne turned and grimaced. 'I'd like you to consider twenty men to accompany you to Eastwatch to sure up numbers. At least ten should be Free Folk.'

'Of course, Lord Snow.'

Jon held his expression in place. 'I believe you meant Lord Commander.'

Ser Alliser kept his own sneer in check. 'Of course. Slip of the tongue.'

'Those names to me by tomorrow if you please,' Jon said, dismissing him.

'You do know he's going to select men loyal to him, don't you?' Edd remarked, counseling his young Lord Commander.

'I do.'

'Is that wise?'

'Ten less men that hate me here at Castle Black to stick the knife into my back, and ten to watch them should they decide to cause trouble.'

'What happened to keeping your enemies close?'

Jon gave him a troubled look. 'We've got bigger enemies to worry about.'
