'Fair warning,' Owen called out as Gwen walked past him, headed for Jack's office, 'he's in a foul mood this morning.'

She stopped and frowned at Owen. 'Why? They didn't have another row, did they?'

Owen snorted. 'Nah, just got the call from the mayor's office. They're making a big song and dance about that hole in the car park behind the town hall.'

'But we cordoned it off. It's only for a few days. Once we've cleared it they can go in and patch it up. Why so much fuss?'

'Because apparently it's right over the mayor's car space.'
