'What excuse are you going to use tonight, PC Cooper?' Owen asked, lounging back against the satin sheets as Gwen did the clasp on her bra. God but she had a nice arse. 'Backlog of unfinished business? Not really having to stretch the truth much, is it?'

'Rhys doesn't ask, so I don't tell,' she replied, shimmying into her tight jeans.

'So, it's not cheating if your boyfriend doesn't make you lie about it? Why not just drop him?'  

'Because...' she began, unable to finish the sentence.

Owen smirked. 'Cause he'll still be there when you get bored of me.'
