Summary: Confronting a weevil is a lot easier than dealing with his coworkers. A double drabble.
Owen winced as he sat sideways on the bed, tenderly touching his bruised ribs. He looked up at the sound of footsteps on the drab hospital linoleum and groaned. 'What d'you want?'
Ianto's expression remained unperturbed. 'Those are nice,' he said, gesturing towards the bag of grapes.
'Jack's idea of a joke,' Owen mumbled. 'Fucking hate grapes.'
'I love grapes,' he replied.
'Yeah, well you would.'
Ianto reached over and plucked one, popping it in his mouth. He looked so smug chewing it with delight. As if today could get any worse.
'Why you here?' Owen demanded. 'Not even visiting hours.'
Ianto took another grape and rolled it between his fingers. 'Jack said you were being discharged. Thought you might like a lift home. I assumed you wouldn't be coming back to work. You know, after everything lately.'
Owen gave an annoyed sigh and stuck his finger up. Just because Jack demanded he turn up for work tomorrow didn't mean he had to like it. Worse was having them all think he was lazy or hung up on Diane leaving. He stood with a hiss. 'As it happens, I was. That a problem?'
Ianto shook his head. 'Not at all.'
