Notes: Jack is keen to get feedback on his newest recruit. A double drabble.

'Here's your coffee, sir,' Ianto announced. 'Anything else I can get you before I head home?'

'There is something, actually,' Jack replied, leaning back in his chair.

'Oh?' Ianto raised an eyebrow at the curious way Jack was studying him.

'What do you think of our new recruit?'

'Shouldn't you be asking Owen and Tosh?'

'I already did. I want to know what you think. You are the newest one here, or were. You know what it's like being the newbie.'

'To be fair, sir, I worked for Torchwood before I came here. It wasn't exactly eye opening. Well, not all of it, anyway.'

Jack didn't look at all offended. 'All the same, I'd appreciate your opinion.'

Ianto paused a moment before replying. 'I like her.'

'Because she's Welsh?'

Ianto smiled. 'Nothing wrong with that. I think she's coping well, all things considered. She's clearly nervous and trying hard to impress, but I think once she comes out of her shell a bit more, she'll be a really good operative.'

Jack chuckled. 'If this is her holding back I'd hate to see her at full force.'

'We Welsh are stubborn like that,' Ianto agreed.

Jack nodded. 'I think you're right.'
