Summary: Jack knows when he's not welcome. A double drabble.

Jack shuffled in his chair, hearing his neck pop as he bent it sideways. These chairs were not designed for waiting, and neither was he.

If he'd been expecting Torchwood London to put out the welcome wagon for him on  his first visit here in an official capacity, then he was sorely disappointed. There wasn't so much as a cup of tea and a pastry.

'Ms Hartman is in a meeting. She'll be with you as soon as she's done.'

What a load of hokum. She knew perfectly well this was the appointed hour. No doubt she'd double-booked on purpose, or was lounging in her office having a laugh at his expense.

'We simply must chat,' she'd said over the phone. 'My, but Cardiff is in a bit of a state, isn't it?'

'We'll manage,' Jack assured her, though the collective "we" at the moment was just him, and for the time being that was how he meant to keep it.

'No, I insist. Come to London and we'll discuss the future direction of Torchwood Three.'

Studying the robotic staff that buzzed efficiently past him, he knew one thing. He didn't want to go in any direction Yvonne was headed.
