Notes: Owen is trying hard not to get sucked in by Jack's pet. A double drabble.

Owen's work was interrupted by something bustling between his legs and his chair, settling in the space between. When he looked down, there was Jack's dog, nestling its face in his crotch. Why did dogs always do that? It made him nervous having teeth that close to his most valued body parts.

'Shoo,' Owen said, waving his arm. 'I don't know why Jack thinks it's okay to bring a mutt to work.'

Buddy didn't move, staring up at him with expectation.

'Go take your sad puppy dog eyes and guilt trip somewhere else, why don't you? I don't like animals. I don't even like most people.'

Buddy whined quietly and continued to assault Owen with those big brown eyes.

'He likes it best if you rub his ears!' came a shout from Jack on the gangway overhead, spotting the pair of them.

'If I do, will he piss off?' Jack didn't reply.

Owen groaned, reaching down and scratching at the soft black fur. It was kind of nice actually. The ears were floppy and felt like velvet. He could hear a thump thump thump of a tail wagging beneath his desk.

'Yeah, alright. So, you're not so bad,' Owen muttered.
