Challenge: 567 - Ring at tw100
Notes: Ianto is at his wit's end. A double drabble.
'Coasters, people!' Ianto cried at no one in particular as he lifted the mug off the table. Why couldn't anyone around here use coasters? He left them everywhere - on desks, on the boardroom table, in the kitchen - the idea being that they were accessible and necessary.
He swiped the second mug off the coffee table and lo and behold, there was another ring to match the one he'd just uncovered underneath its neighbour. He'd only just had the coffee table taken away and restored by people who made it their job, carefully sanding back the lacquer and water damage, applying a fresh coat of varnish and bringing it back to its former glory.
Who were these lazy people leaving mugs on tables, anyway? How did they leave rings when he was so careful in crafting what went inside them? They were slurpers, he decided. Those people that let half their drink run down the side of the mug instead of ingesting it. That was why you needed coasters. Wasn't it obvious?
Maybe he should buy a really hideous doily cover for the table. The old, tatty, crocheted kind. If they complained it was ugly, then maybe they'd learn their lesson.
