Notes: It's a dirty job but someone has to do it and Owen actually enjoys it. A double drabble.

Subject appears to have a second stomach where fatty deposits are transferred for breaking down before being passed back into its regular digestive track for expulsion... Owen commented into the recorder. He then took out the organ and set it on the table, slicing it open for further inspection.

'That's disgusting,' Suzie said, cringing as she looked down over the railing.

'It's fascinating,' Owen replied, as fatty goo oozed from the incision. 'Four hundred pound alien built like a rugby player and not a single blocked artery. If we could figure out how it's digestive system works we could end heart disease.'

Suzie twisted her face, unable to partake in Owen's enthusiasm. 'I've never met anyone who attacks such a disgusting job with as much relish as you do. I bet you were the weird kid at school that poked dead birds in the playground with a stick just to see what was inside.'

'And I'll bet you were the kid at school that threw a punch at anyone who looked at you the wrong way.'

'Are you two playing nicely?' Jack asked, wandering over before taking a look at Owen's progress. 'Okay, that is so disgusting.'

'Told you so.'

Disgusting to look at, but I still understand Owen's enthusiasm for something that could potentially give rise to an important medical breakthrough.
