Summary: Tyrion is left speechless by the carnage in King's Landing. A double drabble.

The pile of ash under Tyrion's boot distracts him momentarily from everything else around him. With a sickening horror he realises that what he has crushed is a bone. A human bone. Once it had been a body but now all he sees is a few charred remains that barely resemble bones. Only dragon's fire is hot enough to incinerate a body like this.

He looks back up and sighs. The city is barely recognisable. He thinks of it as his city, even though in reality he should probably call Casterly Rock his city. The city of Lannisters, in any case. Even the Red Keep is crumbled and broken.

This was not part of the plan, Tyrion thinks despondently. They were meant to come here and scare Cersei's army into surrendering. Instead Danaerys set the entire city ablaze, killing and burning the innocent along with the guilty without a second thought. There'd been no chance to allow the common folk to escape the city before the battle began. Cersei had made sure of it by sealing them inside. Her plan to appeal to her enemy's mercy had backfired, resulting in the slaughter of hundreds of thousands of women and children.
