Notes: Jack sometimes wishes he didn't keep so many secrets. A double drabble.

Jack cursed under his breath as he watched Ianto drive and away in the SUV, leaving him here standing alone at the top of Wharf Street. If he hadn't been so proud he might have asked Ianto to stay and help him investigate further. As it was, it was bad enough watching Ianto wander up and down the street with no ill effects and saying "there's nothing here, Jack". If there was really nothing here the why did this place make him so sick every time he tried to enter it?

He's been chewing over this mystery for so long without any resolution that he's not even sure he believes it can be resolved anymore.

Perhaps he should have swallowed his pride and admitted that this troubled him more than he let on. Ianto wasn't the kind of person to look down his nose at someone. If anything, just turning up here tonight was a sign that he wanted to help. He was worried about Jack - just not enough to argue with him when Jack played down the situation.

One of these days your ego is going to wind you up in a lot of trouble, Jack, he told himself.
