Notes: Owen is determined to show the team he can still do his job. A double drabble.

Ianto raised the small cup to his nose, closing his eyes as he took in the aroma. 'Mmm, fresh and strong,' he murmured.

Owen gave him a dubious look. There was such a thing as taking pride in what you did, but having to watch Ianto make coffee - ostensibly on the basis that Owen was now going to be in charge of beverage making - convinced Owen that he was slightly unhinged. Nobody got that enthusiastic over a cup of coffee. Ianto was off in la-la land.

'Your turn?' Ianto asked, finally diverting his attention from the cup and back to Owen.

Owen stepped forward, jostling him out of the way. He didn't care what Jack said, or how much time Ianto had spent explaining it to him, minute by agonising minute, it was just a machine. Push a few buttons, twiddle a few knobs and hey presto, coffee came out. There was no art to it, no complexity, no divining the coffee gods on high, as Jack would have said. Any peanut could operate it.

He might be technically dead, but he'd show them. Master this and then maybe Jack would take him seriously and give him some real work.
