Summary: There is some trickery involved in making the perfect brew. A double drabble.
'Coffee's here,' Ianto announced, stepping into Jack's office without further invitation.
'Thank the gods!' Jack replied, also spying the chocolate biscuits accompanying it. 'Well, maybe not the gods, but the man who makes it.'
Ianto gave a little bow as he set the mug down. 'I do like to think that there is a certain amount of divination required.'
'Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic,' Jack quoted.
Ianto froze, the plate of biscuits coming to a halt in mid air, failing to join Jack's mug on the desk. 'Excuse me?'
'Clarke's Third Law.'
'My coffee is not a product of technology! I can't even believe you would imply that a machine is capable of producing this. Might I also remind you that no one else around here could even get said machine working. This requires true skill, something everyone else is lacking.'
'No need to get so worked up about it.'
Ianto huffed. 'King Ianto hereby denounces you as a heretic,' he declared, before picking up the coffee and taking it with him, along with the plate of biscuits.
Jack groaned, wishing he'd just kept his mouth shut. 'Clarke always was a bit of a jerk,' he muttered.
