Summary: Jack's universe is finally put right. A double drabble.
Ianto couldn't wipe the smile from his face as he watched Jack from the corner of his eye. He'd had his vortex manipulator for over a hundred and fifty years and worn it faithfully on his wrist every single day. It only ever came off to shower, and sometimes not even then. It was as much a part of Jack as anything. It could do a great many things even if it hadn't served its primary function since burning out on a game station in the year 200,100.
But now Jack fingered it with a newfound joy. There was an extra spring in his step and a sparkle in his eye now that the Doctor had finally relented and fixed it - not all the way, but its teleportation functionality was now good for several hundred miles. Enough distance to get them from their ship to the surface of any planet and back again. At least that was how Ianto viewed it, practically speaking.
For Jack however, it was like being reunited with a long lost friend, his companion across the vastness of the universe, making their duo a trio. It was as if everything were finally right in the world.
