Title: Breaking faith

Notes: Ianto is worried what his god must think of him. A double drabble.

Ianto paused worriedly just outside the church. He hadn't been to a service in over a year, not even Easter or Christmas. He was certain he wasn't alone on that front. Most people these days were probably only festively observant. Like him they certainly didn't do confession anymore. The list of sins would have taken days to work through. Any priest would be exhausted just listening to them, let alone forgiving them all.

What worried him wasn't all the little insignificant things - the unkind thoughts he'd had about people that annoyed him, or the white lies he'd told his family so they wouldn't worry. It wasn't even the bigger things, like the blood on his hands and the lives that had been lost because of him. What terrified him was what he'd become, what he'd done since Lisa had died. His faith didn't believe a man could love another man, yet he did. Jack had become everything, where before there'd been almost nothing at all. God could have struck him down at any time, but perhaps it was waiting for him to come to it.

He held his breath as he stepped over the threshold, waiting for lighting to strike.

That's the bad part of religion, that it can be so intolerant of so many people for being the way they were made.

*hugs Ianto*

Poor Ianto. God is also forgiving.
