Title: Ambulant unfriendly
Author: m_findlow
Characters: Jack, Gwen
Rating: PG
Challenge: 594 - Stair/Stare at tw100
Notes: Getting around the hub is tough when you're injured. A double drabble.
'Oh! Son of a bitch!' Gwen swore as she threw her arms out to grab the railing before her legs went out from under her completely.
'Language, PC Cooper!' Jack scolded.
Gwen pulled herself back to her feet, taking the last few steps gingerly as she kept a firm hold on the railing. 'Why the hell are there so many bloody stairs around this place?' She flopped down into her desk chair and gently prodded her sprained ankle.
Jack came over and folded his arms as he leaned against the desk. 'Didn't Owen tell you to go home? That busted ankle isn't doing you any favours.'
Gwen picked up a bunch of files and made a show of flipping through them. 'Yeah, well, these cases won't solve themselves. Plus, I never see you taking any heed of Owen's advice.'
Jack chuckled at the observation. 'I value his opinion. I never said anything about following his instructions, although it would be preferred if you didn't follow my example. As for the matter of stairs I'm not sure how to fix that. We did try anti-gravity platforms for about three weeks in the seventies but the lack of seat belts was problematic.'
