Summary: Jack is after a little peace and quiet and thinks he's found the perfect spot. A double drabble.
Jack sighed as he slammed the car door shut and slumped heavily into drivers seat. Finally peace at last.
He let his eyes drift close and just enjoyed the sound of absolutely nothing. It was true what they said - silence really was golden.
Here was the one place in the hub - even if technically it was the underground carpark for the Millennium Centre and not the hub at all - where there was no squawking pterodactyl, upset because no one wanted to play with her on a day when she was stuck inside on account of the weather; no constantly grumbling Owen, throwing implements and banging clipboards as his latest autopsy continued to baffle him; no Gwen on the phone to the police for two hours straight, trying to get them to relinquish items from their evidence locker which were alien in origin and of no evidentiary use whatsoever; and no Tosh tinkering with a new device that had an obnoxious habit of beeping every time she ran a test.
He was interrupted by a knock on the window. Jack rolled it down to reveal Ianto standing there.
'Are you heading out somewhere? Only I was planning on vacuuming the SUV.'
