F**k you, human race

To the people who were filmed stealing groceries out of the trolley of a blind woman:

You don't deserve to be classed as human beings. Coronavirus is too good for you. The karma bus should run you over.

It's sickening, how uncivilized the human race is becoming. We've had cases here in California of people shoving elderly shoppers down, in order to steal their goods right out of their carts. Pure barbarism; that's all it is. The more primal, animalistic side of "humanity" revealing itself in a crisis.

My county has just reported its second confirmed case, and I'm freaking out. My mom is exactly in the range to get it: Over sixty-five, with lung issues, along with a past history of diabetes and other issues. I have lousy lungs, myself, so I'm also at risk, but not to her extent. Now that we're up to two cases, already, I'm pretty sure we're going to be sticking close to home. Luckily, we have cable, loads of DVDs and CDs, tons of books, and plenty of hobbies; and we're pretty much quiet homebodies, anyway. So, as long as truckers are still making deliveries to stores, and stores still take online orders and make deliveries, we should (hopefully) get through this with little inconvenience.

I'm just so sick of stressing over it, worrying. We've cancelled our upcoming medical appointments (which kinda sucks, because I think we need to up the dosage of my antianxiety meds), and I literally feel queasy at the moment, from being so freaked out.

I know what you mean. I've got two elderly parents in the house also with underlying medical conditions, and here I am still commuting on trains to work every day. I'm terrified of bringing it home. I've been run down and overworked for weeks but my paranoia got the better of me today. I've been imagining the beginnings of a sore throat for days, intermittent dry coughs for no reason and this afternoon freaking out that my face was feeling all hot and flushed.
Probably doesn't help that today is the nine year anniversary of dad's cardiac arrest.
I think - hope - this is all just psychosomatic.

OMG. That is terrifying! I hope it's psychosomatic, too; I'm sure a lot of people are going to have that happen. Could be why the number of cases sometimes fluctuates.

O.o

What a horrible thing to do.

Oh, yeah. My threshold for putting up with shit like this has been reached. Someone is gonna get hurt.
