Notes: Dealing with expectant fathers is highlighting some unusual complications. A double drabble.

'How did everything go?' Jack asked, watching as their resident medic came and stood in his doorway with his tablet tucked under his arm. He was keen to hear what Jez had to say about Ianto’s condition. Being pregnant and immortal were both things Jack had first hand experience in, but not both simultaneously.

'Just a routine check-up,' Jez said. Hard to tell anything much this early on, 'but his bloodwork came back in good shape.'

'That’s good,' Jack said, feeling relieved.

'I did have to set a few ground rules, though,' Jez added. 'You know, now that we have to consider the implications for the baby.'

'Of course.'  He didn’t expect any less.

'And that didn’t go down so well.'

Jack’s curiosity piqued at the comment. 'Oh?' Ianto was such a stickler for rules and protocol. 'Anything in particular I need to know about?'

'I told him he’d have to cut down on coffee. One a day. You should have seen the look of sheer horror on his face. You’d think I’d suggested he give up coffee for life and drink battery acid instead.'

Jack chuckled. 'You don’t know the half of it. Say goodbye to rational, level-headed Ianto.'
