Notes: Gwen is loving spending time with her new boss. A double drabble.

'That one was a joint effort.'

Jack smiled at her and Gwen felt as if the rest of the world had melted away, leaving just the two of them here in this moment. She'd never thought twice about having zero training with guns when she'd worked for the police, even thought she was out on the beat. They'd seemed unnecessary, yet now that she'd held one and shot it, she couldn't imagine why she'd ever been reticent about it.

Perhaps it was because it was Jack standing there with his hands resting over her hip and her own hand on the gun. It was that warm breath on her cheek and the sensation that his chest was only inches away from being pressed against her.

Part of her wanted to falter with the trigger so that he'd stay there a little while longer until she had the hang of it. The other part of her wanted to impress him. His praise and that effusive warm smile were worth it. He had wanted her here on his team and she wanted to be a part of that. Together it didn't seem like there was anything they wouldn't be able to do.
