Notes: Jack is never going to get to grips with Ianto's fickle nature. A double drabble.

'Not those ones,' Ianto said as Jack picked out the can. He set it back and picked out the one right next to it. 'No, not that one either. There,' he added, pointing to the shelf below.

Jack compared the tin in his hand with the one Ianto had directed him towards. 'What's the difference?'

'That one is better value,' he replied.

Jack spotted the tiny yellow tags, announcing it was on special, saving them a whole twenty pence. 'It's a can of tinned tomatoes. Who cares if it's on special?'

'I care.'

'Ianto, I sign your pay cheque. We can afford to not care about twenty p on a can of tomatoes.'

'You're missing the point. We should save where we can.'

'Says the man who has no qualms about buying the world's most expensive coffee for a treat and who prefers his suits from Savile Row.'

'Save your pennies on the things you can, so you can enjoy the finer things,' Ianto insisted. 'Besides, it's Torchwood. Who knows how long that'll last. We could be unemployed next week.'

Jack snorted. 'Not unless the rift decides to move planets. Can we at least buy two, since they're on special?'
