Summary: Jack is more predictable than he thought.
'Where have you been all morning?' Jack asked, spotting Ianto for the first time in hours.
'Here and there,' he replied without giving too much away. 'It's odd job Tuesday.'
Jack folded his arms across his chest and smirked. 'I thought Tuesdays were Naked Tuesday.'
Ianto rolled his eyes. 'Only according to you.'
Jack leaned forward again, curious about the paper bag Ianto was carrying. It looked like one of those fancy ones you got in boutique stores with the raffia handles made to look chic and expensive. 'Shopping was one of your odd jobs?'
'Among other things, but this wasn't exactly on my list.' He dipped his hand inside and pulled out a small cellophane wrapped package. 'I couldn't really go past that chocolatier on St Mary Street without indulging in a little something. This one's for you.'
Jack took the package and gasped. 'Peppermint chocolate frogs!' His mouth was already watering as he ripped open the delicate seal and pulled one out, scoffing it whole into his mouth. The sweet, velvety milk chocolate and the peppermint danced around on his tongue as it melted in his mouth. 'Oh my God. This is like heaven.' He swallowed and smiled. 'These are my absolute favourite.'
'I know,' Ianto replied matter of factly.
'How could you know? I'm sure I've never mentioned it before. And don't tell me you read about it in some file in the archives. No one has ever been bored enough by a case to report my preference for chocolate of the amphibious kind.'
Ianto shrugged as if it were simply obvious. 'It makes perfect sense. You're always on the go, never knowing when you might next need to charm someone, so want nice smelling breath, thus the peppermint part, but you're also addicted to chocolate, so you want maximum chocolate without giving up the mint. That takes peppermint creams out of the equation, so chocolate frogs with a hint of mint is really the only logical choice.'
'You know I don't think I've ever had my sweet tooth indulgences psychoanalysed like that.'
'Try not to over think it, sir. You got your favourite. Let's leave it at that.'
'What about you? Do you have a favourite? Those choc caramel mocha bars, by any chance? No, wait, the chocolate coated coffee beans. It's gotta be them.'
'Sorry to disappoint you, but it would be a tie between strawberry creams, dark chocolate orange and those fancy liqueur truffles.'
Jack chuckled. 'You're easy to please, then.'
'Some would disagree.'
Jack smirked. 'Well, it's good to know that you know what I like. You know what else I like?'
'Probably nothing that can be so publicly shared over coffee in your office.'
Jack grinned. 'Maybe later then when the others have gone home. I'm sure you know how to tick all of my boxes.'
Ianto gave a coy smile, stealing one of Jack's chocolate frogs and nibbling the end off it. 'I'm sure I don't know what you mean, sir.'
