Notes: Everyone has to start somewhere. A double drabble.

'Jack, we've got incoming!' Tosh called out, unable to hide the slightly panicked tone in her voice.

'Spacecraft?' Jack asked, rushing over to her workstation at the same time as he flipped his wrist strap open, trying to get additional readings from it.

'Meteor,' she confirmed.

'It's just passing through, isn't it?' Owen asked. He didn't think she actually meant it was planning on hitting them.

'Judging by its speed and trajectory, it's going to land somewhere just on the edge of the Brecon Beacons.'

'Of course when she says land, she of course means crash,' Jack said, verifying Tosh's data.

'Crash?'

'Big enough to not burn up on entry but not big enough to do more than create a bit of a crater,' Jack confirmed. 'But we should get whatever samples we can.'

'So, we're not all gonna die, then?'

'Ianto!' Jack called out. 'Put the call out to our new recruit.'

'I believe she's on a date night, sir,' he replied.

'So?'

Owen snorted, already beginning to gather together equipment he'd need. 'You really want your newbie getting under our feet out there?'

'She has to start sometime. Besides, it's a meteor. What's the worst that could happen?'
