Notes: Jack doesn't have time for protocol. A double drabble.

Jack rushed across the plaza and past the shiny buildings of steel and glass, not stopping for even a moment to admire them. Today there wasn't time for that. His bigger concern was navigating the crowd of people, all of whom wanted to go in the complete opposite direction to him. Smart, he thought, since he was running headlong into guaranteed danger.

A cordon of trucks and UNIT military personnel were already surrounding the building. It was a good start, but not enough if Torchwood Tower really was being overrun by cybermen. UNIT had faced cybermen before, decades ago. He only hoped their training had them prepared for this.

Two men with heavy assault rifles stepped forward and blocked his path. 'You can't go in there, sir. Restricted access.'

'I'm Captain Jack Harkness. Torchwood.' He tried looking beyond them but they were taller than him, blocking the view.

'Well then, you definitely can't go in there,' the UNIT officer affirmed. 'The Brigadier has a station setup directly for debriefing you lot about what's going on in there.'

Jack growled in frustration. 'I'm Cardiff branch, not London. I'm going in, so you can either let me or you can shoot me.'
