Notes: Gwen has drawn the short straw in dealing with their latest alien visitor. A double drabble.

Jack tried hard to suppress a snigger, failing miserably. 'You look ridiculous,' he announced.

Gwen scowled at her own reflection in the mirror, flapping her feathery arms in a poor imitation of the creature she was meant to be dressed as. 'I feel ridiculous.' She sighed in resignation. 'I don't know how I'm supposed to move in this thing if it comes after me.'

'You're bait, Gwen,' Jack reminded her. 'It's supposed to come after you.'

'You know what I mean,' she huffed. 'What if it, you know, tries anything?'

Jack beamed at her. 'Your honor will be preserved, I can assure you. As soon as it gets close enough, Ianto and I will be there to capture it. All we needed was something to attract its attention and, might I say, you do make a very lovely and tempting mate. If a crazy looking, green, chicken thing appeals to you.'  

Gwen sneered. 'You really know how to make a girl feel attractive, Jack Harkness. No wonder you're such a catch.'

He shrugged. 'Just saying. Even I have my limits. But know this, if you hadn't lost the coin toss with Ianto, he'd look even more homely than you do.'
