Notes: Jack gets hit by some harsh reality. A double drabble.

The fist that slammed into Jack's jaw caught him totally by surprise. He'd always thought of Ianto Jones as being a bit of a soft touch. It was just the way he carried himself, quiet and unassuming, always neatly dressed and rarely, if ever, saying more than he strictly needed to. He didn't argue with anyone on the team, or say no to things in anything other than the most subtle way. Jack wouldn't call it weak, but he wouldn't have put Ianto up against anyone and expected him not to come off second best.

The sharp right hook he'd just delivered changed all that. Gone was the gentle soul who wouldn't hurt a fly. Deep down inside was the rough, valleys teenager who got into a fistfight every other weekend. He hated Jack right in that very moment and he made no bones about demonstrating it.

Jack struggled as the others tried to hold him back from his own rage at being struck. He'd never been good at dealing with non-violent protest, but he was an old hand when it came to holding his own in a fight. Ianto was about to learn Jack was no soft touch either.

It's a good thing the others held Jack back, he might have done something he couldn't take back

Ianto's swing might have been justified, but Jack's would just cause irreparable damage to any chance of them being allies.
