Notes: Everyone needs a best friend. A double drabble.

Rhys shook his head as he sipped his pint at the table, watching Banana Boat make an absolute arse of himself in front of a girl who was way out of his league. Everyone must have a friend like Banana, he thought.

There was one in every group, the bloke who was completely bloody hopeless, always with some hair-brained scheme to make money or get ahead, and which always ended in a complete shambles. He was the kind of bloke that had you just met him for the very first time, you'd give him a wide berth and tell all your mates what a nutter he was.

But because they'd been mates for as long as anyone could remember, there was no parting ways. He was just the goofy one, the one that made everyone laugh, even if sometimes they were laughing at him instead of with him.

Whether he knew what to do in a crisis or not, Rhys knew Banana would always be there for him if he needed it. And Rhys would always be there to bail Banana out of whatever trouble he got himself in. Just so long as it had nothing to do with women.
