Notes: Jack is stuck for ideas and needs some help. A double drabble.

As Owen pulled the last of the bandages away, be breathed a sigh of relief. The wound had healed up better than expected.

'What's the verdict, Doctor?' Jack asked, leaning against the railing.

'One happy Teaboy, I should hope,' Owen replied, adding a small amount of salve to the scar tissue to help it finish healing. Fortunately there were no complaints about that either.

'Always glad to hear a valued member of the team is on the mend,' Jack said, leaving Owen to his work.

'You're one lucky git,' Owen said, further chastising to his patient. 'For all the trouble you've caused me these past two weeks I should've just refused to treat you and let you sort yourself out. Totally unappreciated around here,' he continued. 'That's what I am. No one wants to know you until they need patching up.' He didn't expect effusive praise for his work. That would be too much to ask.

'Almost done, Owen?' Ianto asked. 'There's a fresh bed made up with someone's name on it.'

'Yeah, yeah. We're done.'

'Come on, Myf. Owen won't upset that cut on your wing anymore.' She toddled away, snuggling into her fresh straw.

'Stupid bird,' Owen grumbled.
