Notes: Jack's coat is always a hapless victim. A double drabble.

Ianto sighed as he took in the state of Jack as he exited the SUV. 'Again?' he said, setting his hands on his hips. 'Third time this week, isn't it?'

Jack at least had the good sense to look contrite. 'I'm really sorry, Ianto. I was trying so hard not to die.' He handed across the coat clutched in his hands. It was in bad shape, torn in several places and bloodstained, but he knew Ianto would work his magic on it. He was just glad Ianto hadn't seen the state he himself had been in. Those wet wipes in the glove box were a godsend.

'What did you do before me?' Ianto asked. 'How did this coat ever survive three weeks, let alone a century and a half?'

'I used to mend things myself, you know. I just... didn't do such a great job of it, that's all. Darning socks and fixing great coats is not the same.' Jack grinned. 'I don't come from master tailor stock.'

Ianto blushed at the comment, knowing it was meant to flatter him. He would of course do his utmost. Jack without his coat just wouldn't be Jack. Lucky it was part immortal.

A self-healing Coat is essential for someone who gets killed as often as Jack!

It would never have survived 1941 let alone all the years subsequent without some magic resilience to damage!
