Notes: Gwen loves the thrill of the chase. A double drabble.

Gwen was running hard but she barely noticed it. She only had eyes for the kid in the hoodie in front of her. Jack and Owen were somewhere behind her but she'd outpaced them ages ago and they had no chance of catching up to her now, but she was slowly closing in on the kid. He wasn't alien, he wasn't a threat, but he had something on him that they wanted.

This was why she loved her job, and the one she'd had before it. It was the thrill of being in pursuit and knowing that with persistence she'd get there.

A roller door came sweeping down inside the arcade. The kid ducked and scrambled under it. By the time Gwen reached it, she was forced to slide into a roll to squeeze under it. Moments later she was back on her feet. There wasn't time to think about how cool she must have looked doing it. Her new teammates could regale the story later, but it would only count if she caught him.

She should have been in agony by now but her feet had wings and her mind was locked on. She just had to catch him.
