Challenge 622 - Hard justice

Notes: Jack wants the book thrown at the cannibals who almost killed his team. A double drabble.

Jack sneered as the man was driven past him, handcuffed and lowered into the police car. He couldn't recall the last time he'd hated a man enough to want him dead.

Two more cars had already peeled away down the drive, taking the four others from inside the farm house. Their ringleader was the last to go. Jack hoped it was the last time he'd ever lay eyes on the man. If not, he really would kill him.

The officer in charge of the scene marched across the gravel and tipped his hat. 'Your team heading off now?'  he asked, watching the last of them being escorted out of the back of the paramedic van. Jack nodded.

'Never seen anything like it, charging folks with cannibalism and manslaughter.'

'Not manslaughter,' Jack corrected him. 'Murder.'

'Attempted murder,' the officer corrected him. 'All your team still look live to me.'

Jack surveyed them, mailing around in various states of injury, feeling his anger rise up inside him again. Only just, he reminded himself. A few seconds delay on his part and it would have been a very different story.

'Charge them with everything, or your DCI will be hearing from me personally.'

Of course they're guilty of murder! Where does that idiot police office think the cannibals got all the body parts they're eating? Don't find those is Asda!
