Summary: Ianto can't be expected to remember every single place they've ever been. A double drabble.
Jack leaned against the doorway of their Star Cruiser with a relaxed smile as he revealed the scene beyond. 'Anything here look familiar to you?'
Ianto's face scrunched up in a pensive little expression. 'I don't know. Should it?'
Jack straightened a little. 'Really? Nothing at all jogging that eidetic memory of yours?'
Ianto studied the landscape with a critical eye. They hadn't been here before, but New New New New York looked just the same as New York and New New York. They'd skipped the one in between, but Ianto supposed it was exactly the same as all the others. It always was, according to the history books. A little modern tweak here and there of course, flying cars and short form transporter podiums littered the city now in the same way as yellow taxi cabs once had. He didn't think Jack was asking him to point out the obvious. 'Sorry, Jack. You'll have to help me out on this one.'
Jack sighed theatrically. 'Really?' He pointed and Ianto followed his line of sight.
'A tree?'
'Not just any tree! The sole surviving tree of New New York! We ate hotdogs under it.'
'Silly me. How could I forget?'
