Summary: On the big day, it's not the bride who's suffering from nerves.
'Jesus Christ, Ianto. Whatever you do, don't start crying.'
'Me?' he said, staring incredulously at Jack. He was the one whose eyes were already starting to glisten, and he was telling Ianto not to cry?
'Would you two please hurry up?' came the annoyed demand. 'I don't care what they say about the bride being allowed to be late to her own wedding. I'm not going to be late on account of you two having a moment.'
'When did our little girl get to be so bossy?' Ianto asked.
'She gets that from you,' Jack replied.
'Me? You're the bossy one.'
'And you're the one who has to be on time for everything.'
'Dad! Shut up and stop arguing! Move your arse!' she said, coralling them angrily with her bouquet. Who knew a woman in white could look so fearsome?
'Okay, okay,' Jack said, throwing his hands up in surrender. 'She's so your daughter,' he added, under his breath, wanting to get the last word in on the matter.
Eleri paused by the double doors, moments before they'd be opened for her to walk down the aisle. She sucked in a deep breath, letting it out slowly.
'You look beautiful,' Ianto said. 'Just enjoy it. This is your day.'
She threw herself at him and hugged him tight. 'I love you, Dad.' Then she turned to Jack. 'You too, Dad.'
'Hey, no tears for the happy bride,' Jack said, thumbing one away from the corner of her eye, careful not to smudge her makeup. 'We love you, too.'
'More than anything,' Ianto agreed.
'Your fiancé, not so much,' Jack teased. 'Taking our baby girl away from us. The cheek of it.'
'He's about to be our son in law,' Ianto said.
'Exactly. How do we get rid of him, then? I suppose we could always retcon him. Concrete blocks and dump him in the bay?'
Eleri thumped him. Ianto added his own whack.
'Hey, don't mess up the suit!' Jack complained.
'Stop your whining,' Ianto said. 'This isn't about you today.'
'But-'
'No buts.'
'What about when they get to the objections part? You know, if there's anyone here, yadda yadda, speak now or forever hold your peace.'
Eleri gripped his arm like a vice. 'Dad, don't you dare!'
'You already crashed Gwen's wedding,' Ianto said. 'You don't get to crash this one. If you even so much as think about opening your mouth, I'll drag you out of there by your ear and deal with you myself. You'll be holding your peace for a very long time.'
Jack sighed. 'Fine, so are we doing this?' He held out an arm and Eleri smiled, wrapping hers around it. Ianto wrapped his own around her free arm.
'How many kids get to be given away by not one, but two dads, do you think?' she asked, positively glowing.
'Only the lucky ones,' Jack said, winking at Ianto. 'I do love a good wedding. We should do this more often.'
'What? Marry off our children?'
'No, I meant us. Think the celebrant would mind tacking on a second exchange of vows?'
'This is my day, Dad. Get your own.'
He pecked her on the cheek. 'Just kidding. I still might steal a kiss, though. You, Ianto, brand new son in law... Whoever gets there first, really.'
Eleri rolled her eyes, so much like her father. 'As if we've come to expect anything less.'
