Summary: Ianto doesn't know how to repay the kindness of a complete stranger. A double drabble.
Ianto had barely stepped inside the pub but already he could see the two drinks lined up on the bar at his usual seat. He heaved a breath, walking towards them and unbuttoning his jacket as he did, sliding comfortably onto the stool. The finger of scotch went down in one go without any hesitation. The pint of lager was there to be nursed. He kept his head down as the owner of the establishment approached him.
'Guess this is the part where you tell me I owe you one, huh?' He felt so embarrassed after what had happened last night - and this morning - that he almost hadn't come here. But where else was he supposed to go? This is where people who had nothing in their lives hung out, wasn't it?
Mandy rested her hand on his arm. It was nice that someone cared enough to reach out and touch him. Someone who didn't want to put a knife to his throat in any case. 'You don't owe me anything, Ianto.'
'Really? I think I owe you quite a bit.' If not for last night then for everything else.
'Well, maybe next time you can shout me a drink.'
