Notes: Gwen is keen to get Jack's assessment of their newest teammate. A double drabble.

Jack looked across at Gwen as she rubbed her tired face. ‘So, what do you think?’  

Gwen groaned at the cryptic nature of the question. ‘What do I think of what?’

Jack leaned a little closer, as if he was expecting someone to overhear him. ‘Esther.’

She gave him a puzzled look. ‘Just in general?’ she asked, hazarding a guess. Jack nodded. ‘I think she's sweet.’

‘That's it?’ He sounded disappointed in her assessment. ‘You don't wonder how she and Rex ended up working together?’

Gwen slapped her hands down on the table in front of her. ‘For God's sake, Jack. Does everybody have to have slept with everybody in your books?’

‘She just… doesn't strike me as the type.’

‘Jack!’ she hissed. ‘She did not sleep with Rex. I wouldn't sleep with Rex. And I'm hoping you're about to say you wouldn't sleep with him either.’

Jack grinned at her. ‘I don't think he'd let me get that close.’

Gwen sighed. ‘She works for the CIA. I'm sure she's just one of loads of people who has had the unfortunate luck of having to work with Rex. Let's not hold that against her.’

‘Okay,’ Jack conceded. ‘She's just sweet.’
