Summary: Jack's moods are often best judged by his physical appearance. A double drabble.
Owen looked grim when he stepped into the hub, leading the charge of returning teammates. Ianto held out a plate of biscuits as a peace offering. 'I'm guessing it didn't go well.'
Owen snorted, ignoring the biscuits. 'That's putting it mildly.'
'How mad is he?' Ianto didn't have to stipulate they were talking about Jack.
'On a scale of one to ten'
'More like hands balled into fists or veins about to explode out of the side of his head.' The nuances in Jack's body language operated like their own scale of disaster, and Ianto knew them all and could have listed them in rank order. Even he knew when to run and hide at Jack's temper, when coffee, chocolate biscuits and an overly showy loosening of his tie wouldn't be enough to quell Jack's ire from spilling over into the nuclear stage.
Owen thought about it for a second. 'My best guess is that you'll need a mop. I don't think it's only his veins that will be exploding.'
'Great.' So much for hoping it would be a quiet night of cuddling and watching television. He'd never get Jack to settle if he was in that kind of mood.
