Summary: Jack is stuck in a traffic jam of epic proportions. A double drabble.
‘Good afternoon,’the radio chirped. ‘David Brigstocke bringing you the Radio Wales four o'clock news update. Scenes of chaos in Cardiff today as new traffic laws came into effect at six am this morning, causing major bank-ups off the M3 and A448 in and out of the city centre. Cardiff’s new one-way system, designed to ease congestion in the nation’s capital has served to confuse local motorists.’
‘No kidding,’ Jack muttered. ‘How many times have we accidentally ended up back on this roundabout?’
‘I've lost count,’ Ianto said. ‘On the plus side, whilst we've been driving round in circles, I've finally finished the cryptic crossword that was in the glove box.’
‘There's been heavy criticism from today's congestion and calls for the system to be scrapped altogether.’
Jack heaved a sigh. ‘You know, as much as I hate David Brigstocke, that is quite possibly the single most intelligent thing that has ever come out of his mouth.’
Ianto gave a smirk. ‘Don't get too excited. It was bound to happen eventually, like a blue moon, and then never again. Tomorrow he'll be back to his usual complete arse self. Nice of him not to blame us for a change, though.’
