I'm not quite what you would call an anti-vaccer — but for f--k's sake — can we have the vaccine ASAP so some of this head-snapping garbage can finish???

My heart goes out to you guys down south — but don't worry, I'm sure Sydney will have another turn soon.

What gets me is that the airport have the food court open. I mean, WTAF? Are we trying to encourage return travellers to stop by and spend a hour having coffee and sharing it around??? Are the staff at Maccas asking "would you like covid with that?" FFS... *facepalm*

Could be worse. We're in lockdown probably through March. Which doesn't affect me so much because I hardly ever go anywhere, but still...

True. We've done the four and half month lockdown already. Nobody wants a repeat of that, but I suspect it will last more than five days. Vaccines and semi normal life still feel like a very long way away.

This is our third lengthy lockdown, and it might not even have been necessary if people weren't idiots. Normal life is still a very long way off. No idea when the over 50s will be scheduled for vaccination, but I'm trying to be patient.

Good luck with your lockdown. hope it doesn't last long.

Hang in there and keep crafting! Hopefully that will pass some of the time. Fingers crossed that the vaccine roll-out reaches you soon. I'll be in one of the very last groups (could this possibly be the only time I'll be glad to be in the 35-40 category?) but I think it's still not until September/October. I'll just be happy for the folks to get theirs. They're 65 and 71 with their own health issues.

They've just said over 65s can start booking, so there's some way to go yet. It'll be over 60s after that, and then my group, the over 55s. By that time I'll be 59!

I hope your folks will get theirs soon. In a weird way, although I still miss mum all the time, I'm glad she's not here for this.

I totally understand that. It's the worry at how vulnerable they are that would eat away at you all the time and make you reluctant to venture out for any reason at all lest you bring it home with you. I felt strange just yesterday going down the street at lunch to Bed Bath and Table, though I only went to buy Mum the matching European pillow covers to match the duvet set she bought from them online (for some reason they wouldn't sell them online!). Even though it was only yesterday it already feels ages ago because I worked from home today.

Yeah. It's worrying enough for me alone since I'm not in the best of health, plus mum had carers coming daily to help her wash and dress, which I couldn't manage, so that would have been potential infection coming in every day.

So weird that the duvet set could be bought online but not the pillowcases!

That's how I feel every time I go out, it always feels far longer ago than it really was. Even the same evening I'm like, did I really go out just this morning?
