Summary: Jack finds Ianto's obsession with the archives worrying.
'You really need to go home sometime,' Jack said, leaning on the doorway of Ianto's little office down in the archives. He'd become rather too attached to the dark, dusty space as far as Jack was concerned, even if he was possibly the first person in the entire history of Torchwood to actually care that their records and artifacts were in some kind of order.
'I stopped working over an hour ago,' Ianto replied. 'Promise. I just get sucked in by these old files. They're fascinating, don't you think?'
Jack gave a noncommittal shrug. He was all for nostalgia and regaling the past, but he didn't think anything in Torchwood's filing cabinets made for interesting reading. Paperwork was a necessary evil in their line of work. You can romanticise pretty much anything given enough time.
He picked up the file and skimmed its contents. Yep, this one he remembered. It sounded way more exciting now than at the time. 'If you really want to explore the past, we could always go for a drink and I could tell you a few stories.'
Ianto frowned. 'That's very kind but I think I'll pass. You always embellish them. I prefer hard facts.'
