Summary: Some aliens aren't worth saving. A double drabble.
Jack stared disdainfully down at the smoking pile of mush that had, not thirty seconds ago, been a rather large, tubby alien. It had taken all six bullets from his webley to take it out and now the barrel of the gun was so hot that he couldn't even holster it. He held it one-handed by his side as he studied the ruinous mess.
'You should've told us to shoot,' Owen remarked, not having even taken the safety off his gun yet. He hadn't thought it necessary in the Mexican stand-off that had five of them against one of it. 'What was it saying, anyway?'
Jack could only just barely interpret the burbling language it had been spouting, but he got enough of the gist. 'It was making commands for us to surrender and serve it without question, starting by ordering us to assassinate this planet's heads of government.'
'Jesus,' Owen breathed.
Jack nodded. 'I had hoped maybe it was a defector and going to come along peacefully. Turns out it was just another one of its species hell bent on making slaves of an entire galaxy. Death was too good a punishment for the kinds of crimes they've committed.'
