Summary: Ianto's promotion is causing some unwanted tension. A double drabble.

Ianto carried his leather folio under his arm as he stepped through the boardroom doorway. It felt strange to be carrying it and not the usual tray of coffee. The boardroom's latest addition - a not entirely objectionable coffee pod machine - sat in the corner of the room for anyone who needed a caffeine fix.

He was early to the meeting, as was his habit, but only by a few minutes. The room soon filled with his teammates who all took their seats. Only Jack remained last to arrive as expected.

When he finally did, there was a tense awkward moment as Ianto remained standing. The spot at the head of the table was empty and everyone was looking at Ianto to take it. He was officially in command now, as of yesterday, and the head of the table was where Jack always sat when he'd been in charge.

Ianto clutched his folio. It felt wrong to usurp Jack's spot, leader or not. Even Jack seemed to be waiting for him to take it.

Ianto took a breath and pulled out his old chair, sliding down into its comfortable leather. A changing of the guard didn't mean everything had to change.
