Summary: Jack and Ianto's new pet has some painful consequences. A double drabble.

Ianto pulled his hand sharply away as the alien took an unexpected swipe at him. 'Ow!'

Jack chuckled. 'I did warn you it might do that. Some like having their tummies tickled and some don't.'

Ianto frowned at the outrageously cute alien. 'Just when I thought getting a kitten would be boring.'

'Kittens scratch too, you know,' Jack reminded him. 'And you were the one who wanted a pet.'

Ianto conceded the point. It was sometimes lonely on a spaceship with only Jack for company for weeks on end as they travelled from one end of the galaxy to the other. He just hadn't thought a kitten was suited to space travel, thus his request to Jack to find something more resilient yet suitable. Something that likes curling up in your lap, Ianto had said. And it was cute and fluffy and liked laps. But it also had claws.

'It stings,' Ianto complained.

Jack took his hand and inspected it. 'Why hasn't it healed yet?'

Ianto rolled his eyes. 'Because unlike you my immortality doesn't work that way. Death yes, normal injuries, no. Those heal the good old-fashioned way. Slowly.'

'Huh. Guess I should have picked something without claws then.'
